What are theory lessons?
Theory lessons at Hassadna Conservatory provide students with the foundational concepts, essential skills, and the ability to understand the musical material they encounter in their playing. The conservatory offers a wide range of theory groups, tailored to the different learning levels of each student.
In the early stages, lessons focus on elementary theory, melodic and rhythmic solfège, and ear training. In the more advanced stages, lessons also cover harmony, musical analysis, composition, keyboard harmony, counterpoint, and more.
Lessons are held weekly in group settings and are delivered in a creative, varied, engaging, and collaborative manner. Students learn through multiple approaches, including direct instruction, group games, individual dictation, practice and repetition, ensemble playing, and more.
