A New Home for Hassadna

A New Home for Hassadna

Building the Future of Music in Jerusalem

For over 50 years, Hassadna Jerusalem Music Conservatory has been shaping the musical and personal journeys of thousands of children and youth across Jerusalem. Today, with 750 students ages 2–18 from all backgrounds—Jewish and Arab, religious and secular, immigrant and veteran—Hassadna stands as a leading force in music education in Israel and a model of shared society through artistic excellence.

But despite its remarkable success, Hassadna has never had a permanent home.

For decades, the Conservatory has operated out of makeshift facilities in a shared school building, where classrooms must be reconfigured daily and essential equipment moved each afternoon. This severely limits our ability to offer the best possible conditions for learning, rehearsal, and performance.

To meet the needs of our growing student body and realize our full potential, Hassadna is building a new home.

A Home for Music, A Home for Jerusalem

To fulfill our mission, Hassadna is building a permanent home, a space worthy of our students’ talent, our faculty’s dedication, and our vision for a shared society through music.

Designed by Sitton Plus Tannous Architects and selected through an architectural competition led by the Jerusalem Foundation, the new four-story facility will be located in the heart of Jerusalem’s German Colony, adjacent to the Museum of Natural History. It will feature purpose-built classrooms, performance halls, studios, and rehearsal spaces, all designed to provide an inspiring environment for learning, collaboration, and creativity.

The building has been thoughtfully planned to reflect Hassadna’s core values: excellence, inclusion, and community. Transparent walls will offer glimpses into the life of the Conservatory from the street, while a spacious inner courtyard and terraced gardens will invite gathering and rest. Shared spaces, including rehearsal rooms accessible to local schools, will ensure the Conservatory remains deeply connected to the city it serves.

Constructed according to green building standards, this new home will serve not only Hassadna’s 750 students and dedicated faculty—but also the wider Jerusalem public—as a cultural and educational hub for generations to come.
